Some interesting thoughts over at Ethan Zuckerman's blog in response to a previous response by Brian at Black Star Journal.
They basically go back and forth on the pros and cons of celebrities getting involved with causes like Live 8. They are frustrated that people come to the show for the music, but thankful that people are getting educated on the issues. Ethan thinks part of the issue is that many of the peripherally involved celebs look at Africa as a problem and not a diverse content filled with opportunity. A good read if you want to hear how folks who've spent time in Africa think of Live 8.
