2. Wonder what? Why you use an Apple?
Sorry dude, it's the whole VHS vs. Betamax argument all over again.
I don't use Apple or Linux because they're not as universal.

3. Sorry....it'snot about the platform debate. It's about AOL (amongst others) having 'exclusive rights' to an event of this nature. Rights to what, especially given the topic? Rights to profit in one way or another from anything and everything in juxtaposition to everything this particular event tries to stand for? Where is the spirit of generosity, for at least once, to give with simply no expectation of gain, to help, to aid as many as possible to join such an opportunity as this, to open rather than close... Sorry to run on, but I find the irony of just this particular situation really informative on a lot of levels. A scramble for competitive advantage in locking up rights for an event trying to 'end' poverty, which itself is one of the very clear outputs of just such a competition-is-everything system....poverty. That's what makes me wonder...(still)

4. I'm sitting in Johannesburg, South Africa where there was little to no publicity about this amazing event and no TV coverage unless you have a hook up to satellite. So huge thanks to AOL for making coverage available over the internet, even to those with a Mac like me - don't know why Roger Benson is having a problem.

6. I am actually a little dissapointed with AOL's coverage (or lack thereof) for people outside the US or the other G8 countries. We are here in Australia and I couldn't see a damn thing on AOL last night...or even get onto their Radio. The other sad thing is that we are getting a rebroadcast of the event tonight (Sunday evening) and it will go for 2 hours. Pathetic. Is this event supposed to be totally FREE and bradcast all over the world??? With exclusive rights and commercials on MTV...give me a break. If there ain't any money to be made some people don't want to be involved.

1. It is VERY unfortunate that AOL has chosen to lock out truly open streaming so that the most people can join Live8 on the web by audio or video. I use a Mac with the most up to date tech and surprise surprise, not supported. That is really unbelieveable that even with something this potent and important, commercial aspects still rule. Makes one wonder...
