Oh, Mariah ... Just stop.

(Page 1)2. There was just something very disturbing about watching Mariah Carey plead for a drink of water from her masseuse, considering the cause and all.

3. give the woman a break! she gave a great performance and totally rocked. so what if she asked for water? if you could sing like that, maybe you'd need some refreshments. why be negative just for the sake of being negative? i thought today was about unity and shit like that.

4. Granted, she did sing very well, but I did cringe when she asked for water and her mic stand. Did anyone notice the massuese bring out like 3-4 bottles of water? Were the different? I know Mariah is supposed to be rather... picky when it comes to things, one of which is bottled water. Correct me if I'm wrong please!

Oh dear. Mariah Carey's diva behaviour, bringing her masseuse on stage to give her some water and asking for a microphone stand, did not go down well. Some fans booed her and there were ironic cheers when she finally got her mic stand.
5. Mariah Carey's performance was one of the highlights for me and most of my friends. She has an incredible voice and we are so happy she came to support Live 8. Drink as much water as you want girl!!!!

6. plead for water? c'mon, that's a little extreme. and as for the masseuse, don't u think that maybe, just maybe, she's sending up her 'diva' image? i for one don't think it's right to bag on an artist for something as trivial as that.

8. Not really the time or place to be playing up the diva image. JMHO.

9. Mariah’s behavior on stage was appalling. She kept repeating the words "African orphans” so many times, it almost looked as if she was getting a kick out of it. The requests for a mike stand and water (making sure we all knew she has a masseuse, big deal) only show that all she cares about is herself. The fact she does have a very nice voice does not excuse here from behaving as a normal human being. Rather than taking advantage of the situation and trying to focus the attention on herself, she should have been the role model some of the other artists were at the same event. Her overall attitude was definitely not appropriate and if she continuous this sort of behavior she’ll end up she like Michael Jackson, totally out of touch with reality.

10. What"s all the fuss about Mariah taking in some water. She certainly deserved some water after that performance.Come on and cut the crap.ALL HEALTHY SINGERS REQIURE A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF WATER BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER A PERFORMANCE

11. Did not catch the Mariah set. I gave up on her as a singer years ago. When her Tits n Legs became more important than her vocal ability. She has got a great gospel voice but over sings every bloody note these days as do so many of her counter-parts. Sometimes less is more they say. Still i hope to catch the set soon. I am not a big Madonna fan either, but boy she rocked on 'Ray of Light'
No problem with her drinking water, most singers do that. As long as she did not go for the wet water trickling down between her cleavage trick. Then again..........

12. My, my, Mariah.. my only hope is that everytime this "diva" (right... she was a forgotten "has-been" less than a year ago!)requested hydration (BOTTLED water,no less), she thought of ONE child in Africa who DIED as a result of dysentary a/or lack of ANY form of hydration! {It's highly doubtful that the thought even crossed Mariah's mind... after all, how can a "reborn diva" be bothered with such NIMBY, "out of sight, out of mind" concerns?} Again, as with so many of the artists that chose to promote THEMSELVES, THEIR MUSIC, and PERSONAL AGENDAS o t h e r than the reason WHY Bob Geldof organized LIVE8, your performances served only to
s h a m e the U.S. to us, the citizens, as well as the rest of the world, RATHER than demonstrating any sincere concern and demand for action for this cause. What pathetic displays of your alleged "compassion" and "concern" for humanity!

13. And tell us all what you have done in your endevours to change world policy Michelle? Sounds like you are too up-tight to even enjoy the music!!
To allude that people are just involved to gain personal status and increased record sales etc may be so in a few cases, but you must be a complete fool if you think that the lkis of Coldplay, Stevie Wonder, Paul Mccartney, Pink Floyd erc etc etc need the money or the lime-light is seriously cray. These acts to name a few could all demand many millions for one or two shows concerts. Re: bagging The USA, well I am sorry to have to tell you it was not all about AMerica. Obviously your are one of the few Americans who believe the world revolves around them. I am glad that the US is not so filled with cynics such as you for then you would be a nation truly lost. As a nation that currently is a world leader the world can't afford that.

15. the earth and all the people ...rich and poor..fully stuffed and starving revolve around the sun
every performer has water close at hand to wet their throats...for singing....if you look you will see bottles sitting every where....look at the pink floyd songs...water right there..
i would glady share what food i have.. will any of you be willing to do so
there is so much food waste that restaurants throw away...so much food.... i have seen poverty people eat out of garbage bins ...
there is enought food and people to grow it..
as Kevin says the performers don't need money they got plenty of that..

1. Yuh, tell me about it. When Mariah came on she totally reduced the gig to her personal little thing only for her... Like asking for water three times in a two minutes and saying the word "Africa" a dozen times like shes getting paid per repeat.
